I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Fine Art with a concentration of Graphic Design.

Blind Pig poster series was an assignment where I was tasked with creating a series of monthly posters for a music venue featuring indie rock and local groups. These three posters for January, February, and March were to provide information on the performance for that month while fitting the venue's aesthetic.

EMU GALLERIES
The Eastern Michigan University Galleries Assignment allowed students to create a new brand for the EMU Galleries as part of a competition.
Describe one of your servicesMy attempt at reenvisioning the logo for the EMU Galleries involved complimenting the existing EMU logo but making it lighter using negative space in order to bring more balance. I intended my logo to be used in both serious or more spirited settings.

My posters for this project allowed for multiple pictures on one poster. The posters would have been able to be used as a template for future use as needed. Similar to the logos, these posters could have been used for serious or spirited settings.

Relative to the posters, I wanted the postcards to be simpler while retaining continuity with them.

I desired for social media posts to be eye-catching and prompt further investigation beyond the post itself.

EMU PROMOTIONAL
The Eastern Michigan University Promotional Assignment allowed students to create educational materials on behalf of EMU’s School of Art for high schoolers and their parents in order to pique interest in graphic design and graphic design careers as part of a competition.
This story was intentionally made difficult to read in order to draw viewers to pause and direct more attention to the story, going deeper than they normally would in those 5 seconds.

INVISIBLE CITY - 18 x 24 in
Invisible City was an assignment that included experimenting with imagery and mass production to narrow down and hone in on one design for posters that capture imaginary cities. The QR code allows one of the cities to pop to life. . The text was meant to be searched for in a crazy, imagined city with every different element. In a fun way, the more one searches, the more one can find in the city.

The Final Posters assignment called on me to screen print my favorite quote. I choose this quote because of my faith and it is what inspired me to become an artist. I choose silver ink and multiple dark backgrounds.

The Target was an assignment about working with a template and creating my own design. It was the opening day of hunting season when I received this assignment and could not help but create something about hunting Michigan’s hunting season. I focused on the reward of the awe and wonder of the beauty of nature whether the kill itself.

THE LUNAR CHRONICLES - 18 x 24 in
The Lunar Chronicles was a book cover redesign assignment. The first three books of The Lunar Chronicles retells Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel. The book series takes place in a science-fiction world with a pandemic, cyborgs, Lunar people who can read minds, and even wolf hybrids.
BOOKCOVER - 5.5 x 9.5 in
I took inspiration from the original covers, as they were relatively simple but still eye-catching. I created a diamond pattern background with the characters hand-drawn to represent the rough sides of their messy stories. I draw both characters to also highlight the romantic side of the book series.
